Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala is the Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Tombura-Yambio in South Sudan, appointed in 2008.
A strong advocate for peace and reconciliation, his ministry is deeply shaped by his own experience of growing up in refugee camps and losing his mother at a young age.
During the Sudanese civil war, he served over 42,000 refugees in the Central African Republic and was a secondary school headteacher in a refugee camp.
His diocese faces extreme poverty, with only 2% completing primary education.
Bishop Kussala remains committed to peacebuilding, education, and hope for his people.
