Cardinal Ignace Bessi Dogbo, Archbishop of Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, was ordained a priest on 2 August 1987.
He served as a parish minister, diocesan director of the Pontifical Mission Societies, vicar general and parish priest of the Cathedral in Yopougon, and professor of biblical languages at the Saint Paul d’Abadjin Kouté Major Seminary.
He was appointed Bishop of Katiola in 2004, later serving as Apostolic Administrator and then Archbishop of Korhogo.
He led the Episcopal Conference of Côte d’Ivoire (2017–2023).
On 20 May 2024, he became Archbishop of Abidjan and was created cardinal by Pope Francis on 7 December 2024.
