Prof. Mary Getui

Prof. Mary Getui, MBS, is a renowned Kenyan theologian and professor of Religious Studies at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.

A pioneer in gender and theology, she is a founding member of the Circle of Concerned African Women Theologians and former chair of Kenya’s National Aids Control Council. .

With a PhD in Religious Education from Kenyatta University, she has significantly contributed to theological education and gender justice in Africa.

Honored with the Moran of the Burning Spear and an honorary doctorate from DePaul University, Prof. Getui continues to shape African theology and social transformation through scholarship, leadership, and advocacy.
